General Faculty Assembly

CSU Andrews Campus started the new academic year with a General Faculty Assembly on August 19, 2024, at the Claude Andrews Convention Center. The event was an important platform for faculty to align their goals and strategies for the upcoming semester.

The event commenced with opening remarks from the Campus Executive Officer, Mr. Ramon Henry Peregrino O. Kanapi, who emphasized that faculty responsibilities extend beyond teaching and evaluating, stating, "We must also motivate our students." Following the opening remarks, Dr. Mariden V. Cauilan, Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered a message underscoring the importance of faculty engagement in the academic community. The Campus Academic Affairs Director, Dr. Pauline Grace P. Casil-Batang then presented the rationale behind the assembly, highlighting its role in orienting faculty members to campus services and their vital responsibilities in supporting students, particularly during crucial moments.The assembly included orientations on the Faculty E2E portal, the Faculty Human Resource Information System (HRIS), and the Learning Environment Network System (LENS), all designed to enhance faculty efficiency and improve student learning experiences. A key focus of the program was dedicated to mental health awareness. Dr. Maribi Ma. Benita E. Balagan, the University Admission Director and a registered psychologist, addressed faculty members on their critical role as first responders to students' mental health concerns. This discussion underscored the importance of faculty vigilance and support in fostering student well-being. In her closing remarks, Dr. Marites Q. Catabay, Campus Instructional Materials Development Coordinator, expressed gratitude for the faculty's engagement and dedication. She reiterated the need for faculty to motivate students and encouraged them to leverage the new tools available to better support their roles. She concluded with a call to cultivate passion and commitment in their work.

She further accentuated the essential role faculty play in supporting students' mental health, urging them to be proactive in their engagement and to inspire students toward academic success. "As we embark on another journey towards helping our students succeed, let us cultivate passion, zeal, commitment, and enthusiasm in our work," she concluded.

The CSU Andrews Campus administration is optimistic that the faculty assembly has set a positive and collaborative tone for the upcoming academic year, reinforcing the vital role of faculty in shaping students' educational experiences.
