38th AACCUP Annual National Conference: Elevate, Empower, and Expand QA in Higher Education

Marikina City, Philippines – March 5, 2025 – The 38th Annual National Conference of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) officially commenced at Marikina Polytechnic College, gathering key stakeholders in the higher education sector to discuss advancements in quality assurance (QA).
With the theme "Elevate, Empower, and Expand QA in Higher Education," the conference aims to enhance educational standards by integrating new technologies and digital tools into state colleges and universities. The event, running from March 5-7, 2025, seeks to equip educators, administrators, and QA professionals with the latest strategies and best practices to foster institutional excellence.
The conference is structured around three primary objectives: Elevating Standards – Implementing innovative strategies to raise the quality assurance standards in higher education; Empowering Stakeholders – Providing educators, administrators, and QA professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to effectively carry out QA processes; and Expanding Collaboration – Strengthening partnerships among institutions to promote shared experiences and best practices globally.
The event features notable participants, including CEO Atty. Carla Marie L. Sumigad, Dr. Romel L. Tagumasi, Ms. Shelley P. Tungcul-Pascual, and Prof. Laureana Lingan. University officials in attendance include President Dr. Arthur Ibañez, VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Mariden Cauilan, VP for Administraton and Finance Dr. Theresa Borja Dimalanta , and Director for University Quality Assurance (UQA) Dr. Maridy Acebedo.
This year’s conference underscores the crucial role of QA in ensuring academic institutions remain competitive and responsive to the ever-changing educational landscape. Sessions will cover a range of topics, including digital transformation in accreditation, data-driven decision-making, and international benchmarking.
