CSU-Andrews launches Kumustahan with CEO
For the first time, the CSU - Andrews Campus has introduced the "Kumustahan with CEO" initiative, a groundbreaking program designed to foster deeper personal connections between the administration and the student body on April 3 and 4.
This activity was spearheaded by Atty. Carla Marie L. Sumigad, CPA, Campus Executive Officer in collaboration with the Office of Student Development and Welfare, led by Dr. Recto A. Aguirre.
The program provided a platform for the CEO to present the administration’s accomplishments, share future plans, and, most importantly, listen to the concerns, issues, and suggestions of the students. By engaging directly with the student body, the administration aimed to address key issues, offer immediate responses, and outline solutions to pressing matters.
In her opening remarks, Atty. Sumigad expressed how inspired she is by the students' dedication and achievements, emphasizing that their success motivates her to work harder for their welfare. She also underscored the importance of student involvement in decision-making processes, promoting a roundtable-style approach where every voice is heard and valued.
The session featured additional presentations, including one by Atty. Maerian A. Tejero, Chair of the Student Disciplinary Tribunal. Atty. Tejero provided an overview of the 2023 revisions to the student manual, ensuring students are well-informed about their rights, responsibilities, and updated policies. The discussion emphasized the significance of discipline, accountability, and adherence to university guidelines.
Dr. Aguirre also provided insights on CHED Memorandum Order No. 63, Series of 2017, detailing the proper procedures for conducting off-campus school activities. He reminded students of the importance of following dress code regulations, maintaining appropriate conduct, and staying engaged with university activities such as the evaluation of General Plan of Activities (GPOAs) and the upcoming Campus Student Council Elections.
The Kumustahan with CEO is a step toward building a culture of inclusivity, transparency, and collaboration, reinforcing CSU - Andrews Campus' commitment to student welfare and academic excellence.
