Last June 13, 2025, a significant step toward promoting faculty health and well-being was taken at Cagayan State University Andrews Campus, as faculty members officially received their Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) cards.
The distribution, which was facilitated by the Campus Faculty President Jaypee Alegado, marks a major milestone in the university’s commitment to supporting the holistic needs of its teaching personnel. With these HMO cards, faculty members now have access to a wide range of healthcare services, including outpatient consultations, laboratory tests, emergency care, and more—all made more convenient and affordable.
Earlier this year, DBM said that the medical allowance will be given to personnel working in national government agencies, state universities and colleges (SUCs), and government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs) which are not covered by the GOCC Governance Act of 2011 and EO No. 150, series of 2021. Employees of local government units (LGUs) and local water districts (LWDs) will also be given the P7,000 yearly allowance.
DBM also said that everyone will qualify regardless of their appointment status—regular employees, casual, contractual, appointive, or elective, and those hired on a full-time and part-time basis—as long as they have worked in government for at least six months.
