In a continued effort to ensure campus safety and emergency readiness, Cagayan State University-Andrews Campus, through its Fire Brigade Team, conducted a comprehensive fire and earthquake drill simulation at the Hermes Building today, May 19.
Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to safeguarding students and personnel, CSU Andrews organized the simulation in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Tuguegarao. The activity aimed to enhance the community’s preparedness for real-life emergencies by providing hands-on training and awareness on proper evacuation and fire response procedures.
During the drill, students were systematically guided to evacuate and assemble in the designated open area, while trained CSU fire marshals and emergency teams, alongside BFP personnel, performed a sweep of the building to identify individuals in need of assistance or rescue. Faculty and staff also took part in demonstrations of fire suppression techniques and the correct use of extinguishers and emergency exits.
The university extends its appreciation to the Bureau of Fire Protection and all participants for contributing to the successful and safe execution of the drill. The initiative underscores CSU Andrews’ proactive approach in fostering a secure and prepared learning environment for all.
